Build your portfolio and learn 1:1 how to best run your client journey

Here at TKC, I believe that people learn in different ways, and that there are multiple factors in creating a photography business that flourishes. There’s power in looking at your business from all angles, so that’s why The Kefi Club offers photography workshops, solo shoot-a-long sessions (some of my favs!) and group talks to cover all bases.

Shoot-A-Long Sessions

Shoot-a-long (SAL) Sessions are tailored to you. I know the importance of building a portfolio that feels authentic and joyful. The aim is to get you visiting your own website and feeling proud of the work you are creating. SAL sessions are not just a portfolio builder, but an opportunity to practice the whole client journey and the preparation. A prepared photographer is a happy photographer and a happy photographer has a happy client.

SAL sessions run in a specific format, optimised to help you get the most out of it for you and your business. We run through everything together including what you need, all the way to planning and getting your own portraits for your website and social media. These sessions are designed to ensure you have the things you need to feel confident and excited. Find out what’s included and how they’re run below.

How do shoot-a-long sessions work?

Shoot-A-Long (SAL) sessions run in a tried and tested format, optimised to help you get the absolute most out of it:

  • - We say hey! And chat about your business; where it shines, and where you’d like to polish. I get to know you and your business so we can tailor it perfectly.

    - Pick your ideal shoot type, eg. maternity, couple, family, branding.

    - We identify the things you’d like to work most on

    - You are set homework of creating a mood board and model call

  • - We source a model(s) for the shoot and create a good chain of communication (email or WhatsApp) to plan.

    - Location, transport, outfits.

    - Practice onboarding clients with model releases, invoices and contracts.

    - Constant communication as needed

  • -We are always working together, so I invite you to shoot alongside me as I run the first part of the session, learning through practical observation.

    - Now it’s your turn. I’ll observe how you direct your models and run the session and be right on hand for any questions, technical or otherwise, or direction.

    -     Content will be filmed for your social media so you're ready to create and share with confidence, then sent via AirDrop or WhatsApp on the day.

    - After our session, it’s time for     branding portraits which will be edited and delivered to you before our post SAL call.

  • - Once your images have been edited, we hop on another call and go through your gallery.

    - Feedback on your gallery

    - Live editing of your images should you request it

    - Actionable feedback on your shooting and directing

    - Post your work, make some videos and get some bookings!

I know first hand that not everybody works in the same way, which is why there is no cookie cutter plan. The Kefi Club is all about accessibility and inclusivity, ensuring that all ways of thinking, doing, learning and creating hold great importance.
