Meet The Kefi Club: A Creative Space Built from Real-Life Experience

from one small business to another, explore the makings of TKC

hi, i’m han
maker of photography courses, mentor to photographers & small businesses, crafter of presets and photography tools, problem solver as business coach, and head camper here at
The Kefi Club

One of my love languages is acts of service and whatever role or job I’ve landed in over the course of my working years, whether that be bartender, newspaper deliverer, theatre staff, front of house at TGI Friday’s, nanny, doula, photographer, teacher, I’ve always prioritised meeting people’s needs with care, intention, and a desire to make their experience smoother, more joyful, and deeply personal. Plus, it’s fun.

A black and white portrait of a woman with long, wavy hair, looking at the camera, resting her hand on her face, against a plain background.

Han, what’s your why?

Ever since I was small, I’ve loved three things:

1 - helping people (or animals, or the planet)
2 - creativity (that 2002 gold wig says it all right there)
3 - problem solving (click here for a prime example)

Simply put, I know what it feels like to get lost in running a small business, and I didn’t want others to feel the same.

I created The Kefi Club because I wanted small businesses and photographers to have a place to learn, grow, and ask questions without feeling overwhelmed or out of place.

There’s a lot of noise out there. I wanted to offer something clearer and neatly packaged. A space with practical support, real conversations, and thoughtful direction — especially for those who are juggling more than just business.

Plus, I wanna make this kid (me) proud

TKC is built around the idea that there’s no one right way to do this. Just your way, with the right tools and a bit of steady guidance.

I’ve always had some form of creativity on the go, and found my love and freedom to create and express through photography when I was about 8. I captured everything around me, including self portraits when I was a teen and fell madly in love with the medium. Growing up, I was a keen musical theatre kid (some things never change) and attended drama school, doing headshots along the side to pay for the school itself. I should have known photography was my main drive, really.

I began photographing weddings and anything that would pay, until I found birth photography (while I was in labour…and photographing my own birth…the ultimate selfie) and very proudly and quickly became established in the field.
I knew the importance of having the right team and decided it was important to teach others what I had learned, so families everywhere could be supported with love and strength. With that, I created the UK’s first birth photography workshop, and have done 4 since then. I felt it only right to gain my doula qualification, and continued to photograph and support births for 7 years. Teaching and mentoring other photographers over the course of my own business came really naturally and I found I gained a heck of a lot of enjoyment from it.

The Creation of The Kefi Club: How a Photography Community for Growth, Mentoring, Courses & Creativity Came To Be

Young woman with braids, wearing sunglasses, a light purple crop top, black jeans, white sneakers, and a grey cap, standing next to a dark grey wall with the word 'OUTPOST' painted vertically in white, smiling and pointing at the sign.

I found this sign on the opening day of The Outpost Course!

& so, The Kefi Club was born

I knew there was a gap for a space dedicated to photographers and small business folk to open up their system, break it down into bitesized pieces and build it back up again, all with someone right there with them.

When I first started out, I felt lost, unhappy that I wasn’t creating or finding work, so I knew how beneficial it is to have different avenues of learning and available resources, so I created The Kefi Club; solely for photographers and small business owners.

I wanted a place where community meant friendship, connection and teamwork, and so TKC hosts The Clubhouse, a space just for the students who enrol in The Outpost Course, to have just that.

I took these videos at the start of each lesson during the 1st round of the course. Hi!

& with it, The Outpost Course

In October of 2024, a wonderful group of photographers joined my 12 week live programme, The Outpost Course, which I designed to help them on a journey of rediscovery of their selves, creativity and businesses. Some students started their businesses from scratch during the course and have seen such fantastic results as they built their companies, found their style and brought in well deserved income.

The course is suitable for all levels, from complete beginner to established photographer as we dive into everything from the tech basics, creation of photographic projects and tasks that help you put your true self (your past younger creative child!) into your business so it’s authentic to you.

Not so frequently asked questions…

TKC

  • "Kefi" is a Greek word that encapsulates the spirit of joy, passion, and enthusiasm. It's an enthusiastic way of life, often expressed through laughing, dancing, singing, and connecting with others. The way life should be.

  • To help creative people feel seen, supported, and strong enough to build what they actually want — not just what they think they should.

  • The kind of people with big hearts and bigger plans, tired brains, and half-finished notebooks. People who care deeply — about their work, their pace, their craft, the people and building something that actually feels like them.

    Ambitious, creative, curious and driven.

  • The Kefi Club is a creative resource hub for photographers, small businesses and entrepreneurs who want to grow their business in a way that feels good. TKC offers courses, coaching, presets, classes and digital tools designed to support real people with real lives, because building something meaningful shouldn't come at the cost of your wellbeing.

    “Make younger you proud.”

  • Being an explorer is in my jellies. I feel it deep in my bones to go on an expedition with National Geographic, document it, and publish my work with them.
Bonus points for animals and teamwork.

  • For TV: A mixture of Jake Peralta, because I love solving puzzles, Jessica Day, because I love most things she loves and also cries at baby animals, Nick Miller, aspiring novelist and occasional grump. And definitely Daphne Blake. After all, lilac is my favourite colour.

For books: Nesta Archeron, Aelin Galathynius because, well, I’ll let you read the books.

  • Empire of Storms, Sarah J Maas

Let’s make younger you proud.
